Dear Parents and Carers,

I do hope that you find the information in this website is useful in helping you to choose the right school for your child.  Naturally, the governors and staff of St Chad's CE Primary School hope you will choose our school! Before you make your choice, please try to make an appointment to come and see our school at work and have a chat with me. Our Open Morning this year will take place on Tuesday 5th October, between 9:30am and 11:00am.

At St. Chad’s, everyone is listened to and their contributions valued. Our recent very successful Ofsted and SIAS Inspections, in June 2008, highlighted our school’s many strengths and excellent qualities and we were judged by both to be ‘an OUTSTANDING school’. We have very high expectations for our pupils’ behaviour and this is underpinned by our caring, sharing Christian ethos. We always strive to further improve the excellent quality of teaching and learning in our school, which is enhanced by modern teaching methods and resources (e.g. Interactive whiteboards in all classrooms).  As a result, our SATs results have consistently demonstrated that St. Chad’s pupils make outstanding progress and attain (or better) their academic targets. The ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda is at the heart of our school and we have achieved the ‘Activemark’, ‘Healthy Schools', ‘Investors in Pupils’, 'Eco Schools' and ‘Stephen Lawrence’ awards. We are currently working to achieve ‘Fairtrade School’ status, led by members of our School Council, staff and governors.
